ABOUT POST 537

To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism; to preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in the Great Wars; to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation; to combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses; to make right the master of might; to promote peace and goodwill on earth; to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy; to consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.

The Mission of the H.A. Todd Jr Post 537 is to serve Local Veterans, especially those in need, to support Local Children and Youth Programs, and to reach out to Active Duty Personnel and their families.  

Included in this support are:

• Thanksgiving Baskets

• Christmas Baskets

• Badger Boys State

• Children and Youth Coloring Contest

• Adopt a classroom with Children with Special Needs

• Donate Toys and books to: 

• Milwaukee Rescue Mission

• Local Church

• Children's Hospital

• West Allis Police Department

Families/Organizations in need that we were told about:

• Riding Lawn Mower was donated to Camp American Legion

• Three golf carts were donated to Camp American Legion

• Arrangements were made by Post Members to move a donated spinet

• Piano to Union Grove for the Veterans to enjoy in their gathering space.

• A wheelchair ramp was erected for a Veteran’s home so that his wife would be able to have some independence.

• A Veterans home was painted and he was helped with some repairs and yard work.

Whenever we are made aware of a need for a Veteran, we did our level best to help them.
